Overview: Elixir of His Guilt opens with orange blossom, pimento seeds, and nutmeg in a spiced floral accord that is warm and slightly sharp. The orange blossom is handled beautifully, honeyed and warm rather than soapy. Orris butter at the heart adds powdery, slightly rooty elegance while osmanthus contributes a delicate apricot-like fruitiness. The base of vanilla, benzoin, and patchouli settles into a warm, slightly animalic dry down that rewards close proximity more than distance projection. As an Extrait, longevity is excellent.
